As the rain bands continued to circle but slowly move away from the Houston area, Jim McIngvale wasn’t just worried about his home or his furniture stores. He was worried about people. All people who were being left without a home.
August 26, 2017. Sitting on the couch wondering, like so many were doing that night in Houston, Texas, when will this rain stop. Minute after minute. Hour after hour. Bands of rain, kept coming and coming and coming. When will this stop. It was like someone had left a water hose, the size of a truck, running and forget to turn it off. When will it stop.
Can you image, when you are still in High School, doing the thing you love the most and knowing this is what your career will be? Most teenagers don’t. But, for a small few, that drive and determination is all they can think about. And that dream, eventually comes true. It did for Cesar Galindo!
On Friday, June 2, I knew I was in for a treat. I was heading to a golf tournament that helps raise money for individuals and their families, fighting cancer. But, this tournament was different. Mainly, because the person who started this tournament five years earlier, is one of the strongest cancer survivors you could ever meet. And she’s still fighting.
So if you think being an actor doesn’t mean that you don’t have idols of your own, you would be so wrong. While, at the iHeart Country Music Festival, who walks in the door, but two people who are no strangers to cameras, and they love country music too. That’s right! “Scandal” star, Scott Foley and “One Tree Hill” alumni and actor and author, Chad Michael Murray! Who knew!
Being a household name is something many aspire to be one day. Being a success in the public eye for five decades, is almost unheard of in any industry, let alone multiple ones. But for Arnold Schwarzenegger, that’s exactly what he continues to do.
I’ve always been so happy, my parents exposed me to so many different types of music growing up, from R & B, to Jazz, Blues, Country, Classical, Tejano, and Rock, just to name a few. So, when I was given the chance to attend the iHeart Country Music Festival, I was honored and jumped at the chance. I’ve been to a number of concerts during my life, and always had a good time. But, to get a chance to talk to a few of those who make the music, and also turn around and give back to their communities, is a true joy.
When I arrived at the venue where I would be interviewing Brittany Hebert, I knew I was in for a treat. Earlier in the day, I had heard that storm clouds were rolling in, and it could be a wash out. But, not a drop of rain fell from the sky. It was as if something was saying, hold up, Brittany is doing something special, and no one is going to stop this from happening. They were right!
Standing in the middle of a sea of reporters and interviewers is nothing new for Booker T. It’s just part of what he’s become accustom to, after decades in the ring. But, when you watch how he spends time with each and every person that interviews him, you have to give him his props for how he does it. He listens very closely to every question he’s asked. He also treats every interviewer as if they are the only person in the room. Granted, he doesn’t have too. He has the star wrestling credits to carry him where ever he goes. But, I get the impression, that he chooses to, because he wants everyone to feel special.
