On Friday, June 2, I knew I was in for a treat. I was heading to a golf tournament that helps raise money for individuals and their families, fighting cancer.  But, this tournament was different. Mainly, because the person who started this tournament five years earlier, is one of the strongest cancer survivors you could ever meet. And she’s still fighting.

I’ve always been so happy, my parents exposed me to so many different types of music growing up, from R & B, to Jazz, Blues, Country, Classical, Tejano, and Rock, just to name a few. So, when I was given the chance to attend the iHeart Country Music Festival, I was honored and jumped at the chance. I’ve been to a number of concerts during my life, and always had a good time. But, to get a chance to talk to a few of those who make the music, and also turn around and give back to their communities, is a true joy.

Standing in the middle of a sea of reporters and interviewers is nothing new for Booker T. It’s just part of what he’s become accustom to, after decades in the ring. But, when you watch how he spends time with each and every person that interviews him, you have to give him his props for how he does it. He listens very closely to every question he’s asked. He also treats every interviewer as if they are the only person in the room. Granted, he doesn’t have too. He has the star wrestling credits to carry him where ever he goes. But, I get the impression, that he chooses to, because he wants everyone to feel special.
