For 17 years, this Tejano/Rockteño group has worked hard to finally get to where they are today. So, when they performed in front of more than 75,000 people at the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo March 19, 2017, there were tears in their eyes. The struggles, the hardships, the celebrations and sometimes, even the pain, was all worth it. They also inspire so many people, because they don’t forget the people.

When I interviewed the band, just a few days after their historic performance, they were gearing up to perform for a much smaller group at a club in Bryan, Texas. With their status, they don’t have to, but they want to still perform at clubs, like this one. It’s in their blood, it’s a part of who they are, they believe in the people who got them to where they are today. At the same time, they also honor one of their own. Band founder, lead singer and accordion player, Jesse Turner thinks about his son Jacob, everyday. Jacob was the groups Bass player, before he was in a one car accident in February of 2016. After waking up from a coma four months later, no one knows to this day what Jacob’s future will hold. But the entire group keeps him in their hearts and prayers. Jacob is one of their lights and his energy shines bright for them, and that helps them they shine bright for him and the fans.
